CASE STUDY - ARTHRITIS
|
Arthritis is a general term for several ailments (of differing causes) involving inflamed, thickened, painful Joints.
Under the general term for arthritis is Gout - a form of Arthritis where excess Uric Acid (in the form of Monosodium Urate) is present in Blood, Tissue and Urine, causing accumulation of crystals of Uric Acid around the Joints.
Rheumatoid Arthritis
The second most common type of Arthritis and also classified as a form of Rheumatism. Rheumatoid Arthritis is regarded as an Autoimmune Disease and involves chronic Inflammation of the Synovial Membranes of the Joints - (typically the Joints of the fingers, wrists, feet and ankles and often the hips and shoulders) and causes destruction of Cartilage, Bone and other adjacent Tissues. |
Oesteoarthritis
The most common type of Arthritis. It is characterized by the degeneration, destruction and erosion of the Cartilage in the Joints and bony outgrowths at the edges of the Joints. Articular surfaces become irregular, flattened and poorly adjusted to each other. This causes the Joint Cavity between adjacent Bones to gradually narrow. Eventually Bones may directly scrape against one another. Osteoarthritis is more prevalent in weight-bearing Joints such as those of the ankles, knees, elbows, wrists, spine, and shoulder.
Treatment for Arthritis
Whilst nature has provided a plethora of herbs that can be used to help with alleviating the pain of arthritis, it is often identified that Food Intolerances are an underlying causative factor in many cases of inflammatory conditions. By working with each individual to identify their specific Food Intolerances, provision of dietary guidelines, and nutritional supplementation help towards achieving a more mobile, lesser pained musculoskeletal frame is available. In many cases the sufferer will also present with secondary health concerns including digestive imbalances, headaches, migraines and perhaps skin concerns, all of which will naturally be eased when adhering to the recommended changes.

Case Study - Arthritis
In June 2005 a 52 year old lady presented to the clinic with Rheumatoid Arthritis. She was diagnosed 2 years previously, suffering with constant ache in her hands initially and now within most of her joints, especially the shoulders, elbows and hands. She stated that it felt as though it was the muscles that hurt most and that at the time of presenting to clinic her joints were not so bad as they had previously been. On rising daily she gets depressed at the pain involved in getting up and dressing herself. Over the past year she had lost 1/2 a stone in weight and was being able to recognize that her RA was worse when she was less vigilant regarding her diet.
Utilising the EAV testing equipment, it was identified that she had Food Intolerances and was advised to avoid the following foods:
Chocolate, coffee, dairy foods, lentils, soybeans and kidney beans, some nuts, the nightshade family including tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, capsicum and chilli.
Further testing of Vitamin and Mineral levels identified a healthy digestive capacity and generally high levels of Vitamins and Minerals. However she was clearly shown to be deficient in Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin C and Bioflavonoids which were then provided as supplements.
She began taking the supplements as directed and on the 3rd day found that she was able to rise from bed and get dressed without any pain. She telephoned me 1 week later to thank me and to share her delight in the dramatic improvement, she still has a few aches and pain but is able to function fully throughout the days and her husband no longer needs to open cans and jars for her. Her treatment continues and her health is improving daily.
